My boys are funny little things…
This morning I was woken to the sounds of Spud shouting “Mummy I had a poooooo!” and I barely had time to empty his potty when Pooh Bear presented me with a dirty nappy. They obviously have put their heads together and come up with this fool proof plan to stop Mummy stalling getting up. At least the chances of a poo-free rest of the day are pretty high now.
For breakfast, Spud ate a bowl of cereal then almost a whole round of toast but is apparently “still hungry”. I express my surprise at this since he has eaten quite a lot already this morning and decide to delve a little deeper.
“Would you like a banana?”
“Nope”
“Well, that’s all we’ve got so if you’re hungry, you best have one”
“Nanna gave me some sweets”
“Oh really!” Now we’re getting to the crux of it.
“Yes, I need sweets in my belly”
Baaa haaa haaaaaa
“Erm, not before nine o’clock little man. If you’re hungry, you can have a banana.”
I’ve had to become a bit of a detective lately when it comes to the “Mummy I’m hungry” whinge. I’d say seven times out of ten it means he wants sweets but since we’re limiting their sweets intake after the overindulgence at Christmas, he’s not going to win that one.
Five minutes after the food conversation, Spud was sulking a little leaning on the arm of the sofa when he slipped and disappeared from view completely. Pooh Bear looked over smiling, then laughed at his big brother of which all we could now see was the top his spiky, unbrushed hair.
“Ahhhhh, poor Spud. You want to give him a cuddle?”
“Nooooooooo” answered Pooh Bear with the cheekiest smile I have ever seen.
I love my boys :)

Wow! We have the hunger thing going on here too! And the failsafe litmus test is definitely the offer of fruit or a cracker- if they take that, they’re truly hungry!
Hope you ended up with a poo-free zone after the rude wake up call!
It was indeed a poo-free zone for the rest of the day :) It is nigh on impossible to fill a pre-schooler up. I dread it when they are teenagers. I’ll have to send them to their Grandparents for tea :D
This sounds like our house! Start the day with being woken by a poo on the potty, fight the constant demands for more food which generally translates as more sweets/biscuits!
Hope the rest of your day remained poo-less!
Yep, poo-free and I managed to hold off on the sweets. I have willpower made of steel ;)
