Chocolate Apples for Halloween/Bonfire Night

If you haven’t already been bitten by the Pinterest bug, then it won’t belong before you are sucked in too. I am loving adding to my interest boards and collecting some great, creative ideas for Halloween and Christmas already and Spud even has his own board which is mostly filled with goblins!

I was on Facebook the other day when My Mummys Pennies shared a Pinterest photo from RosaRot‘s.  It was of chocolate covered apple slices as an alternative to the usual chocolate/toffee apples you get at Halloween and Bonfire Night.  I loved this idea as there is no way my boys would eat a whole apple and I can remember it being quite difficult to eat a whole apple when I was little and it annoyingly ended with the apple falling off the stick before you finished it.

Spud really enjoyed splodging the chocolate over the apple slices whilst Pooh Bear was at nursery and they both enjoyed eating them as you can see…

I’d recommend making and eating the slices on the same day as they don’t have much peel on to protect the apples from browning and I’d imagine they start to get soggy pretty quickly.

If you are wondering what on earth I am banging on about with Pinterest and pinning, boards and pins etc, then Mummy Constant has written a lovely post explaining ‘What is Pinterest All About?
