Baking Halloween Biscuits with Avon

Spud has literally spend the best part of this afternoon playing away in the kitchen creating gingerbread biscuits (Great British Bake Off here we come!).  I became an Avon Rep about 6 months ago and so when I saw these Halloween biscuit cutters, I couldn’t wait to give them a go.  I admit to being a bit of a control freak and finding it hard to let Spud just do his own thing but today I decided to let go and see how he got on.

Pooh Bear has been going to nursery for two hours every day this week to help him settle in when he starts for a whole morning next week so it was the perfect opportunity to do a bit of uninterrupted baking with Spud.

The cutters are a bargain £3 for a bat, spider, pumpkin and witch’s hat.  They are good quality and robust so will last a good few Halloweens.  The great thing is, you could use them for other occasions.  With Harry Potter still being popular as ever, the witch’s hat could easily be decorated as the ‘Sorting Hat‘ and Spud is obsessed with the Bat Cave at Chester Zoo so would happily eat bat biscuits all day.  Scatty Dad loves Super Heroes so he’ll be getting bat biscuits for his birthday too :D

My birthday is actually Halloween itself so I might just whip myself a batch up to enjoy with a cuppa or I could use the cutters to make cake decorations out of icing for my birthday cake.

Spud did really well.  I helped him rolling out a little bit and he was pretty good using the cutters and popping the biscuits out.   We also did a few gingerbread men which he decided he wanted to decorate.  He’s watched Shrek a few times so was more interested covering the gingerbread men with Asda chocolate beans and icing which left me decorating the Halloween biscuits with whatever we had in the cupboard.  I don’t think they came out too badly.  You could go mad and ice them properly or buy some more bits and bobs to make them more ‘realistic’ but I’m not much of a planner and prefer to wing it. (hence the reason we had to use self-raising flour instead of plain due to the flour beetles which had set up home in the flour box!)

These are a lovely little bargain and there’s more Halloween goodness in the current brochure including the infamous Avon Spider Cupcake Holders which I am reviewing next.  With Christmas just around the corner, it’s worth keeping an eye out on my Avon page - Beauty By Kate B

Have a flick through the current eBrochures which I keep pinned to the top of the wall.  I can post out free across mainland UK and if you would like delivery further afield, let me know and we can sort something out.

Also, if you would like to earn some extra cash for Christmas and beyond, ask me about becoming a rep in your area.  You don’t necessarily have to go out delivering brochures and can just sell to family and friends.  It is a really flexible way to earn.
