Getting to Grips with Grammar Toddler Style.

This is just a short post but one which I think is really what makes my blog special to me.  Ultimately, I want to look back on it and remember life when the boys were small and for them to enjoy reading little stories about themselves…

We recently went away with my parents for a few days and they brought with them what seemed like an entire toy shop! So much so that when they popped home one day they took half the toys back with them :D

One of the (still) many toys which remained was a space jigsaw puzzle. Spud is a real jigsaw fiend and could quite literally spend all day doing them. One morning Granny and Spud were enjoying doing said puzzle and Granny took the opportunity to teach Spud the names of the planets featured on the jigsaw.

Granny: “There’s Jupiter”
Spud: “Jupiter”
Granny: “That one’s Mars”
Spud: “That one’s Mars”
Granny: “And, here’s Uranus”
Spud: “MY-ranus”
Granny *laughing*: “It’s not My-ranus, it’s Your-ranus!”
Spud *looking confused*: “My-ranus Granny!”

He got the hang of it by the end of the conversation bless him :D

  1. got to love these wee moments, and as you say write them down to remember them

  2. So sweet. It will be lovely to tell them things they said when they are older

  3. Colette

Gorgeous! This sort of moment is exactly why I’ve started blogging myself!
